modaCycle

The writeup and photos about our Spring 2011 Collection posted by modaCycle is one of the best we've seen so far! We love how detailed Aya Rosen gets in describing our clothes and the photos by Ned Rosen perfectly capture the details of individual pieces. We couldn't have done it better ourselves! Thanks to modaCycle for their support!

"Both Samurai and Astronaut outfits are uniforms, and as such, utilitarian. The collection’s main visual theme was its use of utilitarian details such as zippers, riveting, buckles, cargo pockets, snaps, and eyelets in original and unexpected decorative ways. Ms. Bang’s chosen colors for this collection were narrow, focusing on mushroom, taupe and black with a couple of items in purple and copper leather. It ranged from natural soft materials such as jersey, bamboo mesh, distressed copper leather, and silk. To harsh digitally printed jersey, which the designer named “Plasma,” and to stone washed nylons. Some of the collection’s standouts were; a double lined mushroom colored jacket with zippers all around the lapels, which changed shape and colors when the zipper was pulled up or down. A modern and elegant black jersey dress with a cross shape back in sheer black mesh. And a long sleeve nude jersey dress with surprising cargo pockets and buckled straps along the sleeves."

lowefactor

Fashion and lifestyle blog lowefactor has filed us in as "Brands we Lust". How fabulous! Thanks to Jared for the coverage!

"In case you didn’t know, we love new designers. Enter Korean born, Brooklyn based Sunghee Bang. After winning top prizes at FIT for Art and Knitwear and stints at McQueen (her prints were shown in the S/S 2009 collection), Bang debuted her first collection for S/S 2010 and was immediately picked up by EVA. Drawing inspiration from Astronauts and Samurais, Bang’s S/S 2011 is a tour de force. From her gray and white plasma print racerback tanks to her other worldly metallic hard detailed belts and zippers (we’re a stickler for detail), Bang combines classic tailoring with harsh imagery... Bang’s signature patternmaking and knitting is a revelation. Hence why we file her under “brands we lust”..."

theMAGAZINE(ok) - Spring 2011 Review

Lots of love from theMAGAZINE(ok)'s October 2010 Fashion Week Issue!

"Cool new designer carried by We the People on Stanton. A tightly edited capsule line that takes basics and skews them toward classics. Sunghee featured an exclusive print for dresses and a stellar pencil skirt- I was the v-necked dress with ruching so badly! Also the grey jacket with zipout black panels on the front. Another standout being the khaki jodphur style pants with zip pockets at the hip."
